The beach at Sao Martinho do Porto consists of a large and beautiful bay, with quiet waters, appropriate for families with children. Shopping facilities, restaurants and coffe shops are within walking distance. The fishing town of Nazare is 12 Km distant, and Lisbon is 80 Km to the south.

This high quality villa is tastefuly decorated and consists of 2 floors:
1st floor: at the swimming pool level, with a living/dining room with fire place, cable TV, glassed wall and direct access to the swimming pool, one double room with en suite shower room and balcony, a large fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, wash machine, hob, oven, microwave, coffe maker, etc.).
2nd floor: large hall, one double room with private shower room, another double room with extra bed, one bedroom with three single beds, one complete bathroom.

The villa is surrounded from green gardens, BBQ area, and swimming pool with pool furniture (communal area, shared with adjoining apartment).

Maid service, linen and towels change twice per week.

Sleeps 9 adults + 1 child, self catering.

A perfect beach along an astonishing bay, a blue sea soft of quite, a paradise for the children and for the nautical sports.

From the top of the Belvedere of Facho and Cruzeiro or the Chapel of Santo Antonio, it is a pleasure to have a look at the bay coloured by the typical yellow fishing boats and by the silvered track of small boats.

The bay of S. Martinho do Porto is the last vestige of an ancient gulf that, until the XVIth century extended itself to Alfeizerao and that opens itself to the ocean through a bay, with around 250 yards large, between the hills of Santana, at south, and the Lighthouse, at north.

The town, founded by the monks of the Monastery of Alcobaca at the XIIIth century, goes down in the shape of an amphitheatre since the Chapel of Santo Antonio to the Dock and the Beach and it has extended, each time more and more, through the Avenida Marginal to the dunes of Salir. Its ancient houses can be discovered climbing the walk D. Pedro V to the Belvedere of Jose Bento da Silva Square, or to the Main Church from the XVIIIth century.

Nowadays, the Square Vitorino Fróis, the pedestrian street Vasco da Gama and the Tourism Garden, along with the Avenida Marginal, are the cosmopolitan centre, due to its esplanades, stores, town pubs and restaurants practically all vocationed to the sea flavours: the sued lobster, stuffed crabs, bass, breams and grilled sole or grilled sardines. This magnificent view coloured by the typical fishing boats can be enjoyed from the belvedere of Facho or the Chapel of Santo António (St. Anthony). The bay of S. Martinho do Porto is the last vestige of an ancient Golf that, until the 16th century reached Alfeizerão. The monks of Alcobaça Monastery founded the town in the 13th century. It has the shape of an amphitheatre from the Chapel of Santo António down to piers and the beach. Its ancient houses can be discovered climbing the D. Pedro V alley up to José Bento da Silva Square, or to the Main Church (18th century). S. Martinho do Porto has many possible walking routes, esplanades, pubs and restaurants. Enjoy the local dishes, mainly of fish and shellfish (lobster, stuffed crabs, bass, breams, grilled sole or grilled sardines).
The recently completed motorway between Lisbon and Caldas da Rainha puts São Martinho at less than one hour comfortable drive from Lisbon International Airport. Good roads link São Martinho to the network of Portuguese motorways making it easily accessible no matter where you come from. Nevertheless, nothing can beat the old time charm of the quaint three coach old trains that run from Lisbon or Figueira da Foz. Getting off at the picturesque São Martinho railway station is an experience in itself.
